Talk about a perfect storm. On Sunday there was very strong solar activity, no cloud, & an ebbing moon. A perfect combination of conditions to view the Aurora Australis, which is relatively rare at this latitude. Admittedly it is not particularly obvious to the naked eye, but in camera with long exposures, the stunning display is clear.
I think the Aurora is one of nature’s true marvells, and viewing it deserves a place on everyone’s bucket list.
