Only yesterday, the papers ran the headline “25% chance of Major Quake again in CHCH”. I guess no one welcomes the thought of another big shake, especially as scientists are indicating those odds are for a magnitude 6-7. Whoah, I bet that sends a chill down many a spine.
However, doesn’t a 25% chance of that happening, also equate to 75% chance of it not happening. I guess it depends on how you frame it doesn’t it? Maybe the later doesn’t sensationalise or sell news.
