Returning from Queenstown this week, I was again reminded of the beauty that is New Zealand. Part of the reason I prefer the long drive to flying, is the ever changing light and colour of the McKenzie Basin. It has taken some years to fully appreciate it’s stark beauty, but now with an ‘artists eye’ I fully appreciate it. (And the more astute amongst you will also note the last shot is actually South Canterbury farmland!).
I have explored the heavy mood of the mountain cloud here through black and white treatment. But other than black and white conversion, and the adjustment of global levels, the lighting and contrast appears just as seen.
