The Biggest Concert in the World that Day

Well, that was how Jason Gunn, MC, announced it.
I guess with 140,000 folk in attendance on Saturday, the Band Together post-earthquake concert probably was.

Boy, what a day. Stunning sounds from a who’s who of Kiwi music, for 9 hours solid. With perfect summer weather, it was a just the ticket for the city to come together and relax after the events of the last 6 weeks.

I was lucky to be shooting for Vodafone, who along with agency staff, worked like troopers passing out giant balloons, lollies, t-shirts, as well as organising a support stage for budding musicians. Kind of like a lip-sync stage where kids could experience the buzz of performing in front of a massive crowd (albeit unplugged!).

140,000 people, over 30 acts, two stages.
